WORK EXPERIENCE

Artuner — Gallery Assistant (Full-Time)

August 2021 - Present
Reporting to the Director and the Founder of the Gallery.

Art writing and publishing: This aspect of my role saw me curating artworks’ catalogue entries and descriptions, exhibition copy, PR material, and social media copy. I worked closely with Pia Krajewski and NERO to design and produce “The Tactile Eye”, monograph published in August 2022.
Exhibitions: My responsibilities in this role have included but were not limited to small- and large-scale international transports, admin and customs, art handlers coordination, and exhibition set up. The Artuner team being the founder, the director, and myself meant that I worked closely with them across all work.
Sales: I have been designing and coordinating portfolios and catalogues for the director, also liaising with clients for enquiries and shipment arrangements.

EDUCATION

Royal College of Art, London — MA Writing

September 2018 - May 2020

The course aimed to explore different writing structures under the optic of art. For my thesis, I presented a collection of essays about the feminist undertones in embroidery for the Wedding Trousseau in Southern Italy during the 1900s. Title: “As far as her eyes are good”.

I was part of the editing and distribution teams of “NOIT - 5: bodies as in buildings” journal and publication by the Royal College of Art and Flat Time House

University of Westminster, London — BA Photographic Arts (First Class Honours)

September 2014 - July 2017

The course observed the creative a practice-based and critical understanding of photography. I wrote a dissertation under David Campany's supervision, which addressed two the photobooks produced after the explosion in the aftermath of the Atomic Bomb in Hiroshima: "Chizu: The Map" by Kikuji Kawada, and "Hiroshima" by Hiromi Tsuchida. I travelled to Japan to understand the cultural and artistic impact of the artists, and talked with Kikuji Kawada himself. For my Final Major Project, I produced a photobook titled “The Interstellar Neighborhood”.
